God’s gift of unity brings with it the prospect that as we live together in faith, the Lord will mature us. The Lord’s plan for our lives goes far beyond making certain life situations ‘work out’. His plan is that each of us will be brought to maturity in Christ. The word ‘mature’ in the New Testament is the Greek word ‘telos’. It has a depth of meaning which includes the idea of ‘completion’, something being brought to its intended end/purpose. In this section of Ephesians, Paul teaches us about the nature of maturity.
In this message, we learn that the source of maturity is grace, the goal of maturity is Christ-likeness, and the outgrowth of maturity is stability.
