Different (4) - Matthew 5.21-26
/

In this passage, Jesus continues his teaching on righteousness with the first of six examples.  Each of the six helps us understand a common misunderstanding or incomplete understanding of the law that many in Jesus’ day lived with.  Jesus not only corrects those misunderstandings but also reveals the spirit and intent of the Law.  Kingdom people understand that being righteous is about much more than simply keeping the rules or refraining from doing bad things.

In this message we learn that Kingdom people don’t simply refrain from murdering others but also from tearing them down in our anger.  We desire reconciliation and take responsibility for our words and actions.
