Glory Days - 1 - Haggai 1.1-15
/

This two-message series covers the entirety of the book of Haggai.  Haggai was a prophet called by God to confront the people of Judah who had returned from exile but failed to complete the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem.  For too long they had focused on their own lives (‘houses’) to the neglect of God’s house.  This was more than a failure of construction… it was a failure of covenant.  By neglecting the rebuilding of the temple, they were neglecting the Lord, Himself.  God confronts them and lets them know that He has been causing drought and a lack of growth in their crops because they have failed to uphold His glory.  The people respond and receive the encouragement of the Lord’s promises and the empowerment to complete the task.

In this message, we discover four needs that we all have, especially in times like were are experiencing right now, when it is very easy to become discouraged and distracted and to neglect the building work that the Lord wants us to do.  We need to be re-entered, refocused, reassured, and revived.
