Hello, My Name Is (#10) – 2 Chronicles 34-36
/

In this week’s message we meet Josiah.  Josiah became the king of Judah when he was just eight years old.  Before him, Judah had some kings who ‘did evil in the eyes of the Lord’ and the nation was suffering the consequence. Not only had everyday life become more difficult but the Lord promised to bring severe judgement.  So, what kind of king would Josiah be?  Unlike those who came before him, Josiah chose to do what was ‘right in the eyes of the Lord’.  As we read the story of his reign, we learn that he understood and valued the right worship of Yahweh alone, God’s Word as the living, righteous standard, and God’s will as the ultimate expression of HIs design for life.

Josiah serves as an example to all of us.  Our worship, God’s Word, and seeking God’s will above all remain key ingredients in living lives that are pleasing to Him and exhibiting the Gospel to others.
