How Are You 6 (Psalm 103.13-18)
/
This final message of the How Are You? series reflects on the truth that ‘You are loved.’  While the word love means many things to many people in many situations, it is ultimately God who defines and demonstrates what love truly is.
In this message, we learn that God’s love is compassionate, like a father’s love for his children.  We learn that God’s love is everlasting and unfailing; even though His people have continually failed to keep covenant with Him, He never forsakes his promises and plans to redeem and save.  Finally, we learn that God’s love is sacrificial.  God so loved the world that he GAVE his one and only Son.  Jesus said that there is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.  John said that we know what love is because Jesus laid down His life for us.
It can be helpful for our mental health and wellbeing to remember that we are loved by a compassionate Father who never fails and has paid the ultimate price to make us His children.  Lean into Him and call on Him because, as Psalm 34 promises, the Lord is near to the broken hearted!  Also, God calls us to sacrificial love for our brothers and sisters.  This is especially needed and helpful if they are struggling with issues of mental health or wellbeing.
