In this week’s Scripture, we see Moses go from living in the heights of privilege in Egypt to the depths of fleeing for his life and starting all over again. Little did he know, the Lord was preparing him for a great work.
Before Moses would undertake that work, the Lord would turn his heart away from Egyptian ways and towards the plight of his own people, the Israelites. He would learn that he was unable to rescue his people in his own power and strength. And he would learn to identify with their suffering by suffering himself.
Among other things, we learn in this Scripture that before the Lord works through us for the sake of the Gospel, He first works in us, changing our hearts and preparing us to be used in HIS saving work.
