Unstoppable 2 (Acts 13.42-52)

In this week’s message, we look at the second stop on Paul’s first missionary journey.  As the story unfolds, we learn additional reasons that the Gospel has proven to be unstoppable. First, it is God’s ‘Plan A’.  It is not a new religious novelty but the long-term plan of God to bring salvation to the earth. Second, we see that the Gospel brings a response. It is not a neutral message but one that makes bold claims about God, human beings, and eternity, claims that will either be accepted or rejected. Third, we see that the Gospel is God’s ordained means of calling his chosen ones to Himself. No matter what else is happening, God’s call will be effective. Finally, we see that the Gospel brings good gifts. True joy and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit come along with receiving God’s gracious gift of salvation in Jesus Christ.
